Booking Terms & Conditions

These Booking Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all bookings made with JoyBound Adventures (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By placing a booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your travel party.

A non-refundable deposit of $600 USD per person is required to confirm your reservation. Your spot is not held until the deposit is received.

Full payment schedule:

• At booking: $600 deposit per person
• 90 days before departure: 50% of remaining balance
• 60 days before departure: Full remaining balance

If a booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is due at the time of booking. We accept payment by credit card, bank transfer, or other methods listed on your invoice. All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@joyboundadventures.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice. The following fees apply based on the number of days before departure:

Refunds, where applicable, are processed within 14 business days of the cancellation date. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with trip-cancellation coverage at the time of booking (see Section 3).

Transfers: You may transfer your booking to another eligible traveller with at least 30 days' notice, subject to a $150 administration fee. Transfers within 30 days of departure are not permitted.

Travel insurance is mandatory for all JoyBound Adventures participants. You must hold a valid policy that includes, at minimum:

• Emergency medical expenses: USD $150,000 or equivalent
• Emergency medical evacuation & repatriation: USD $300,000 or equivalent
• Trip cancellation / interruption: coverage for the full trip cost
• 24-hour emergency assistance with a toll-free or collect-call number

Proof of insurance must be provided no later than 30 days before departure. Failure to provide valid proof may result in exclusion from the trip without refund. Please review our Travel Insurance page for full requirements and our recommended provider.

JoyBound Adventures shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic or epidemic, government-imposed travel restrictions, war, civil unrest, terrorism, industrial action, or severe weather.

In the event of a force majeure cancellation initiated by JoyBound Adventures, we will offer participants a choice of:

• A credit voucher equal to 100% of monies paid, valid for 24 months; or
• A refund of recoverable costs less any unrecoverable third-party payments (e.g., non-refundable supplier deposits).

We recommend travel insurance with cancel-for-any-reason (CFAR) coverage to protect against scenarios not covered under this clause.

JoyBound Adventures trips operate with a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 12 participants unless otherwise stated on the trip detail page. Small group sizes are central to our experience ethos.

If a trip does not reach the minimum number of confirmed bookings, we reserve the right to cancel the departure no later than 60 days before the start date. In this case, affected participants will receive a full refund of all monies paid or the option to transfer to an alternative departure at no additional cost.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of departure unless the specific trip page states otherwise. Some itineraries are designated as family-friendly and may permit younger participants, subject to a minimum age of 12 (or as listed) and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Participants aged 70 or above are welcome and encouraged to discuss their health and fitness requirements with us before booking to ensure the trip is a suitable match.

All participants under 18 require written parental or guardian consent prior to departure.

By joining a JoyBound Adventures trip you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use photographs, video, and other media captured during the trip in which you may appear for marketing, social media, website, and promotional purposes.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify your guide at the start of the trip and we will make every reasonable effort to respect your preference. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the validity of consent given prior to the withdrawal.

Media shared by participants on public social channels that tags or mentions JoyBound Adventures may also be re-shared by us with appropriate credit.

Adventure travel involves inherent risks. JoyBound Adventures takes all reasonable steps to ensure participant safety; however, by booking you acknowledge and accept that certain activities carry risk of injury, illness, or loss of or damage to property.

JoyBound Adventures' total liability to you in connection with a booking shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that booking. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost enjoyment or loss of earnings.

We act as an agent for third-party suppliers (airlines, hotels, activity operators, etc.). We are not liable for the acts or omissions of those suppliers beyond our reasonable control, provided we have exercised reasonable care in selecting them.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your booking confirmation applies to your trip. Material changes will be communicated to confirmed participants via email.
